Gosh! What another busy week in year 1.
In phonics the children have been learning about writing verbs in the past tense as well as plural endings. We found some verbs have an s, some es (buses) and some have a new word altogether because they are irregular verbs (mice, people).
The children have been experimenting lots this week in Maths with the different containers looking at capacity and volume. Next week the children will be consolidating their previous maths knowledge of the inverse and number bonds.
We have had some amazing newspaper reports wrote this week in English. Next week the children will be learning how to write a diary entry, with a focus on writing in the first person.
Just a quick reminder that the summer fair is this Saturday! We hope to see as many faces there as possible.
Also there are still slots to help out on your classes stall. Please let Mauny and Susan know if you are able to help out.
Finally, could you please ensure all Pizza Express trip letters are returned by Monday. We will also be leaving at 9am PROMPT on Wednesday for a 9.30 workshop start.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the summer fair!
